New Opening Times for 2019December 12, 2018
We celebrated our 25th anniversary this September, to mark this special time we held a week of exciting activities and events. These events included a coach trip to Truro, an entertainment day, team games and to end the week of activities a church service was dedicated to Crossroads.
Everyone enjoyed a day of entertainment with local acts including a barbershop choir, a ukulele group, and a singer/guitarist. These acts were in addition to our own homegrown talent, with members and staff singing, reading poetry and sharing laughs during members comedy acts. A buffet lunch and celebration cake were provided by the ‘JANNERS’ team, our own team of caterers made up of members and staff.
The week culminated in a dedicated Sunday service at Morice Baptist Church which was followed by a buffet. This service marked 25 years to the day when we first opened our doors on September 15th 1994 as part of the ‘care in the community’ initiative.
David Evans, Minister at Morice Baptist Church said “As a church we are tremendously proud of all that Crossroads have achieved over 25 years serving the community and helping people to gain confidence, self-esteem and social skills”.
Tudor Evans, leader of Plymouth city council joined us for our entertainment day “I congratulate Crossroads on 25 years serving the community both locally and city wide. The services provided by them are irreplaceable. The work done by Crossroads has been life changing for some of our residents, we are so lucky to have the charity as an asset to our city.”
The celebrations aren’t over yet! We will be continuing to celebrate our 25th birthday with an event once a month until September 2020, please see our News and Events page for updates on these events.
